John Birch Paintings​

During the very long wet winter of 2019 I spent time reviewing my work to date.

 

As a result I began 2020 with a new approach with this series of abstract paintings which are principally created through an intuitive process of mark making - often working on several pieces at the same time - working over the paintings repeatedly, sanding down, applying more paint using a variety of methods. Through this process the final work slowly emerges.
