Work 2022 - 2024

This series of work focusses on the act of painting itself - applying paint by dripping and throwing which removes the discipline of brush marks and introduces a random uncontrolled element. At the same time I abandoned all direct references to the subject matter - this has also allowed the freedom to use an unlimited range of colours and forms.

Although purely abstract - these paintings are strongly influenced by the spirit of the Cornish environment and history and the shapes and complex textures found in nature.
