Work 2020 - 2022

I began 2020 with a new approach to my work with this series of abstract paintings which are principally created through an intuitive process of mark making - often working on several pieces at the same time - working over the paintings repeatedly, sanding down, applying more paint using a variety of materials and methods. Through this process the final work slowly emerges.

This evolved into exploring ways of applying paint and the interaction of random and precise forms and the interplay between soft and hard edges.
